Fire breaks out in Tata Nagar-Ernakulam Express in Andhra Pradesh, two coaches burnt, elderly man dies
Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), December 29: A fire broke out in the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express at around 1 am on Sunday night at Yalamanchili railway station in Anakapalle district of Andhra Pradesh. During this, two coaches were badly burnt. A 70 year old man died in this accident. He has been identified as Sundar of Vijayawada. The loco pilot stopped the train at the station as soon as he saw the flames. South Central Railways has confirmed that the fire broke out in the B1 coach of the Ernakulam (18189) Express train. After this the railway employees separated the remaining coaches from the train. This train was going from Jamshedpur to Ernakulam in Kerala. This accident happened about 66 kilometers away from Visakhapatnam. Anakapalle Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha inspected the spot. The relatives of the deceased have been informed. Medical examination of the passengers who survived the accident has been done and arrangements for another train were also made and they were sent to Ernakulam. Sinha said that at present forensic teams are busy finding out the cause of the fire. Complete information will be available after the FSL report comes. Some eyewitnesses said that relief and rescue work became difficult due to the spread of smoke along with the strong flames. The passengers were taken out safely by breaking the windows of the coach. The fire first broke out in B1 coach. It was next to the coat pantry car. The fire then spread to M2. B1 and M2 coaches were completely burnt before the fire brigade team could reach them. The passengers had already exited the coach. Nearly 2,000 passengers were trapped at the station due to the fire. Officials have taken stock of the situation. Now the situation is said to be normal.
