A serious incident came to light late Saturday night in the old building of Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, when a sudden fire broke out in the ICU ward. According to preliminary information, the fire broke out due to short circuit in the ventilator in ward number 8. The incident is said to have happened around 11 pm.

As soon as the fire broke out, the ICU quickly filled with smoke, causing chaos among the patients and staff present there. But due to the promptness of the hospital administration, a major accident was averted.

Doctors, nurses and other health workers immediately acted and shifted all the patients safely to ward number 7. Special precautions were taken while shifting the patients, so that there is no adverse effect on anyone’s condition.

As soon as information about the incident was received, the fire brigade team reached the spot and took immediate action and brought the fire under control within a few minutes. It is a matter of relief that no patient or staff was harmed in this incident.

According to the administration, a detailed investigation will be conducted into the cause of the fire, so that such incidents can be prevented in future. This entire incident has once again highlighted the need for safety standards and regular checking of electrical equipment in hospitals.
