Fire broke out in two coaches of Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express, passengers were in deep sleep

Visakhapatnam:One person died in fire in Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express in Andhra Pradesh. A senior police officer said that a fire incident took place in two coaches of the Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express at Yalamanchili, about 66 km from Visakhapatnam. One person has died in this accident.

A dead body recovered from B-1 coach
It is said that this accident happened late night in Yalamanchili. The police officer said that he received information about the fire at 12:45 pm. Of the two coaches of Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express that caught fire, one coach had 82 passengers and the other had 76 passengers. A dead body has been recovered from B-1 coach of the train.

Smoke started rising from B-1 AC coach
According to the information, the fire was first seen in the B-1 AC coach near the pantry car of the train, which within a few moments spread to the M-2 coach as well. At the time of this horrific fire in the moving train, there were 82 passengers in one of the affected coaches and 76 passengers in the other coach. One of the passengers saw smoke rising from the B-1 coach and pulled the chain to stop the train, after which the passengers hurriedly managed to come out of the affected coach.

The passengers were in deep sleep
Let us tell you that the passengers of the train were in deep sleep when the accident happened. As soon as the fire started spreading in the coach of the train, there was panic among the passengers. Passengers started getting down from the train quickly. It was fortunate that most of the passengers vacated the coach on time. Within no time the entire bogie burst into flames. After extinguishing the fire, both the burnt coaches were separated from the train and after a delay of about half an hour, the train left towards its destination. After the fire was extinguished, a body was recovered from the B-1 coach of the train. The deceased has been identified as Chandrashekhar (75 years old – Vijayawada local). He was in coach B-1 at the time of the accident and got badly burnt in the fire.

Railways gave this information
According to the Railways, both the affected coaches are being separated and their passengers are being taken to Samalkot railway station by arranging bus service. Forensic team and medical team are visiting the spot to collect clues and also to find out the cause of the fire. All necessary precautions are being taken in collaboration with the local administration.

Meanwhile, Commission of Railway Safety/SCR, DRM Vijayawada and senior officials reached the spot. GM South Central Railway is also going to the spot. The forensic team and medical team are going to the spot to collect clues to find out the cause of the fire and also to find out if there are any casualties. All necessary precautions are being taken in collaboration with the local administration.
