First anniversary of Pahalgam attack, high alert in Kashmir, ‘mini Switzerland’

Jammu/kashmir: 22nd April…that date which Kashmir has not been able to forget even today. A year ago, on this day, 26 lives were snatched away by the echo of bullets at Baisaran ground in Pahalgam and today, on the first anniversary of the same attack, the entire Kashmir is in alert mode. Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in Kashmir Valley today. From Pahalgam to Srinagar, soldiers are deployed in every sensitive area. To further strengthen the security of tourists, a new QR code system has been implemented in Pahalgam. Now police verification of every tourist service provider like pony driver, guide and shopkeeper is mandatory. Every person has been given a unique QR code, which can be scanned to see his complete details.

What information is there in QR code?

This QR code includes the service provider’s name, address, mobile number, Aadhaar details, registration number and police verification information. This has made it easier to identify fake people and has increased the safety of tourists.

 

High alert in Srinagar also

Not only in Pahalgam, security has been tightened in Srinagar also. In view of the large number of tourists coming, soldiers are continuously patrolling the city and every activity is being monitored.

Plans made in high level meeting

Recently, Kashmir IGP VK Birdi chaired an important meeting in which senior officials of security agencies participated. During this, the security strategy for the upcoming days and programs was finalized.
