Five members of Indian origin shot dead in America, children saved their lives by hiding in cupboard

A heart-wrenching news has emerged from the US state of Georgia, where an Indian-origin man shot dead his wife and three relatives due to a domestic dispute. The incident occurred early Friday in the city of Lawrenceville, which is located near Atlanta. Police have identified the accused as 51-year-old Vijay Kumar and he has been arrested.

According to official information, the incident took place around 2:30 am in a house located in Brook Ivy Court area. When the police received information about the firing, the team reached the spot and found four dead bodies with bullet marks on their bodies. The deceased included Vijay Kumar’s wife Meemu Dogra (43), Gaurav Kumar (33), Nidhi Chander (37) and Harish Chander (38).

At the time of this incident, three children were also present in the house, who protected themselves by hiding in the cupboard to save their lives. One of them, a 12-year-old boy, son of Vijay and Meemu, displayed great bravery by calling 911 and informing the police about the incident. After this call, the police immediately reached the spot and secured the children.

The Indian Consulate in the US confirmed that an Indian citizen had also died in the incident and expressed condolences and talked about providing all possible assistance to the victim’s family.

The cause of death is said to be a domestic dispute, although the police have made serious allegations against the accused. A case has been registered against Vijay Kumar under several sections, including felony murder, intentional homicide, cruelty to children, and aggravated assault.

The children were not physically harmed and were later released to a family member. This incident has become a topic of discussion not only in Georgia, but throughout America, as it has brought to light the painful scene within a family. Police are deeply investigating the matter and strict legal action is being taken against the accused.
