In simple terms, Flex is a UPI-powered, digital co-branded credit card that is entirely within the Google Pay app. Users can apply and get approved for the card within minutes in the app without any physical paperwork. After that you can start using it soon. It is built on the RuPay network and can be used for payments at millions of offline and online merchants that accept RuPay. The process is similar to regular UPI transactions.

According to the tech giant, Flex offers several different features, which make the credit experience very simple. The first is application and approval, which is handled entirely digitally (Google says it only takes a few minutes). Due to its integration with RuPay, this credit card will now be accepted at almost every small and large store and online website.

Google Pay and Axis Bank are also offering a reward system, where users get ‘stars’ after making transactions. The company says that each star is worth Rs 1 and can be instantly redeemed during any future transaction. Along with this, like a traditional credit card, the Flex card also offers a flexible repayment option, where users can complete the payment or convert their bill into EMI. Apart from this, users will also get in-app controls, such as transaction limits, blocking and unblocking cards or resetting PINs.
