Flood water entered Bhagalpur, everything from the university to the highway was submerged

Rivers are in spate due to heavy rains in the neighboring states of Bihar. Ganga river is flowing above the red mark in many districts. Flood water has entered the city of Bhagalpur. Due to which schools, colleges, universities and highways are submerged. The water level of Ganga continued to rise in Bhagalpur on Saturday morning as well. An increase of 10 cm has been recorded within 12 hours till 6 am. The flood control room has estimated the water level to rise by about half a meter in the next 24 hours. Flood water is rapidly spreading to new areas in Sultanganj, Akbarnagar, Nathnagar, University Campus, Adampur Mohalla, Mayaganj, Pul Ghat, Seedhi Ghat, Gayasuddin Chowkghat, Sabour, Ghogha, Kahalgaon, Pirpainti etc.

The plain area adjoining the river is submerged. On Saturday the water of Ganga started flowing more than a feet high near Ghoshpur on NH 80 road in Sabour. Now the connection of Kahalgaon with Bhagalpur is on the verge of being lost. However the local people are forced to travel on the road risking their lives. People are also reaching the block office for essential work. Here people are saying that the condition of diversion is good. But near Ghoshpur English Farak more than a feet high water is flowing on the road. Apart from this water is also flowing on Masadhu NH 80 road.

Flood water has also entered Bhagalpur Engineering College. Due to which the girl students had to come out of the hostel. The entire campus has submerged. Flood water has entered TMBU campus and many residential colonies. Boats have started running in the university campus. Water has entered the streets of Adampur Bank Colony. Flood water has also entered Bhagalpur Engineering College campus. Water has also increased in CMS School campus. Water pressure has increased on Narkatiya-Nanhkar Zamindari embankment in Bihpur.

The flood victims of Dildarpur village have again started living in tents in TNB Collegiate Campus, while the flood affected people of Shankarpur Bindtoli have taken shelter in Golaghat Dudhiya Mandir premises. Meanwhile, water has spread in new areas of Munger and Lakhisarai on Friday. 104 schools in Lakhisarai have been closed since Friday. Here, pregnant Neetu Devi died due to lack of medical facilities in Pipariya Panchayat. The water level of Ganga and Gandak in Khagaria and Ganga, Kosi, Kari Kosi and Barandi rivers in Katihar is continuously increasing.
