Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao rematch set for September 2026
More than a decade after the “Fight of the Century,” boxing icons Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao have officially signed on for a massive professional rematch.
The historic event is scheduled for September 19, 2026, and will be held at The Sphere in Las Vegas – marking the first time a boxing match will take place in the high-tech, immersive venue.
The fight will be broadcast globally on Netflix, continuing the streaming giant’s aggressive push into live combat sports. Both fighters, now in their late 40s, are ending retirements to settle old scores.
Mayweather, who won their first encounter in 2015 by unanimous decision, remains confident in his perfect 50-0 record. “I already fought and beat Manny once,” Mayweather said in a statement, adding that “this time will be the same result.”
Pacquiao, the only eight-division world champion in history, is seeking redemption after claiming a shoulder injury hindered his performance in their first bout.
Reflecting on the long wait, Pacquiao noted that “the fans have waited long enough – they deserve this rematch.” He expressed his ultimate goal for the comeback, stating, “I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.”
While weight classes and round counts are still being finalized, the “May-Pac 2” announcement has already reignited one of the sport’s greatest rivalries.
