To address the concerns related to this, a meeting was held with major platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, Zomato and Swiggy. Let us tell you that apart from the time limit, the gig workers had also raised demands like increasing the salary, social security (pension, insurance), fixing working hours, respect at the workplace and not blocking IDs arbitrarily.

AAP MP Raghav Chadha had raised the issue

AAP MP Raghav Chadha had given his support to the nationwide strike of Gig Workers. The AAP MP had raised the issue of challenges for gig workers in the Rajya Sabha during the winter session. He had written in an ex-post during the Gig Workers’ strike – “Today, gig workers have announced a strike to bring forward their grievances. I raised their issues in Parliament earlier this month, and expect responsible negotiations from the platforms. I urge the management of Blinkit, Zepto and other companies to immediately intervene, negotiate and find true, humane solutions. India’s progress cannot be built on fear and exploitation. It must be built on respect and justice. Should go.”

Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha shared a video on social media on Monday. In which he is seen making deliveries in a vehicle dressed as a Blinkit delivery boy. He delivered goods to people’s homes on bike. Along with this he wrote, “Away from the boardroom, at the grassroots level. I lived his day. Stay tuned!”
