Food delivery app Swiggy: Amid increasing competition in online food delivery platforms, Swiggy has increased its platform fees to Rs 17.58 per order, which was earlier Rs 14.99. That means it increased by more than 17 percent. Swiggy has informed users on the app that the purpose of the increase in platform fees is to handle the increasing expenses related to operation and maintenance. In fact, tension has increased in the Middle East due to the Iran-Israel war. The effect of which is clearly visible on the prices of LPG and crude oil.

Due to cost of fuel, the cost of the entire food delivery system has increased. Which includes everyone from restaurants to delivery partners. For these reasons, a decision has been taken to increase the platform charge.

The hike comes after Zomato increased its platform fees by 19%, according to NDTV profit calculations on Friday. This increase has resulted in an additional increase of Rs 2 in food delivery charges.

It is worth noting that the platform charges of Swiggy and Zomato are now the same at around Rs 17.58 including GST.
