The biggest reason for the increase in household kitchen expenses is the increase in prices of edible oil, LPG cylinders and broiler chicken. According to CRISIL Intelligence’s monthly ‘Roti-Rice Rate’ report, the price of the vegetarian item rose to ₹28.4 in June as against ₹27.4 in May. Meanwhile, the average price of non-vegetarian food was ₹58.2 in June as compared to ₹56.5 in May.

Why did the non-vegetarian platter become expensive?

The reason for the increase in price of non-vegetarian thali is the increase in the price of boiler chicken.
Boiler chicken prices have increased by around 7% compared to last year, while it has increased by around 2% in a month.
