500 grams mutton liver, cut into 1 inch pieces

½ cup water

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

salt as per taste

1 cinnamon stick

5 cloves

5 cardamom seeds

1 teaspoon fennel

½ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp chilli powder

2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper powder

1 teaspoon coriander powder

Some water (to make paste)

½ cup oil

2 medium onions, chopped

2 green chillies, chopped

1 inch piece ginger, chopped

1 cup thick coconut milk

500 grams mutton liver, cut into 1 inch pieces

½ cup water

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

salt as per taste

1 cup thick coconut milk

Preparation

Mix mutton liver, water, turmeric powder and salt in a pressure cooker

Cook for 3 whistles and keep aside

Finely grind cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and fennel

Mix the powdered spices with turmeric powder, chili powder, black pepper powder and coriander powder

Add some water and make a smooth paste

Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped onion, green chilli and ginger until golden brown.

Stir the prepared masala paste, cook until oil starts separating from the mixture.

Add the pressure-cooked liver pieces to the pan, mix well with the spices.

Add the condensed coconut milk and cook until most of the liquid is absorbed, creating a rich, flavorful coating

Serve Mutton Liver Ularthu hot with boiled rice, appam or chapati. Its deep flavor and creamy texture make it a great dish for special occasions or everyday meals!
