India raised 5 important issues in SCO meeting, Foreign Minister left for home from Islamabad after showing mirror to China-Pakistan

New Delhi: Union External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has left for India from Ismailabad, Pakistan. He had gone to Islamabad, Pakistan to participate in the 23rd meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Pakistan. The visit of the Foreign Minister to Pakistan is considered very important. Due to poor relations between India and Pakistan, no foreign minister had visited Pakistan in the last decade.

Let us tell you that the SCO meeting is hosted by the member countries every year. This time Pakistan got hosting. Heads of state of member countries participate in this meeting, but this time India was represented in SCO by Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. The Foreign Minister, who went to Islamabad on a 2-day visit to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting, raised 5 important issues.

1. The Foreign Minister said that terrorism, extremism and separatism are the three major challenges facing the SCO. These are obstacles in the development of any country. It is necessary to fight them for development.
2.Raising the issue of terrorism and border dispute, Jai Shankar took on both China and Pakistan without naming them. He said that there cannot be business with terrorism. Along with this he said that we should respect each other's boundaries.
3. Emphasizing the need for reform in the UNSC, the Union Minister said that reform will happen only when developing countries get a place in this organization. For this, SCO member countries should take initiative. Note-(India has been trying for a long time for membership of the United Nations Security Council (UCSC))
4. Regarding the issue of environment and health, he said that India has taken many important initiatives in this direction. Member countries can also adopt this.
5. India has considered war and Corona as obstacles to development. Regarding this, Jai Shankar said that the world is struggling with Corona and war. Which has affected development. Many problems are emerging from climate change to supply chain.

Let us tell you that SCO is a group of 8 countries. Which was established in 2001 in Shanghai, China. Initially the membership of this organization was with five countries. Which included China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Due to which it was also called S5 Group. India got membership of this organization in 2017. Along with India, Pakistan was also included in this group. After which the number of member countries became 8. Currently this group includes the countries India, Pakistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
