Foreign Minister of India and America held a joint press conference, know what was said

India US Relations: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar during a joint press conference held in New Delhi.

During this, he said that America has many types of alliances and partnerships, but the nature of strategic partnerships is different. According to him, strategic partnership is formed when the interests of both the countries are in the same direction and they work together to solve problems at the strategic level.

Strong relations between two big democracies

Marco Rubio described India as one of America’s most important strategic partners, he also said that the foundation of this partnership is based on shared values, as both the countries are the largest democracies in the world.

Media and opposition play important roles

He further mentioned the functioning of democracy and said that in democratic systems, governments are accountable to the people. He also mentioned about the systems like media, opposition and public monitoring, which ensure accountability in both the countries and hence the interests of both become similar in many matters.
