Forget stopping at the toll! Cars will fly at a speed of 80 KM, Nitin Gadkari made the biggest announcement

A change is soon going to come on the highways across the country which every driver will be happy to hear. Now the hassle of standing in long lines at toll plazas is going to end forever. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement saying that by the end of 2026, AI based digital toll collection system will be completely implemented in the entire country. After this your vehicle will cross the toll without stopping.

What is Multi-Lane Free Flow Toll System?

This new system is called Multi-Lane Free Flow Tolling (MLFF). Currently, with FASTag, the stopping time at toll is only 47-60 seconds, but after the arrival of MLFF, this time will become absolutely zero. That means you will not have to reduce the speed of the vehicle and toll will also be deducted automatically.

Identification will be done through AI and number plate

Nitin Gadkari said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and number plate recognition technology will be used in this system. With the help of satellite and hi-tech cameras, the number plate of your vehicle will be scanned and the toll amount will be deducted directly from your account. The most important thing – you can cross the toll even at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour!

Common people will get these big benefits

The common driver will benefit the most from this new system. Toll jams will end, travel time will be saved, there will be no hassle of applying brakes again and again and the biggest thing – petrol and diesel worth about Rs 1,500 crore will be saved every year. This means that your money and time will also be saved.

Bumper increase in government’s earnings also

Gadkari said that only after the introduction of FASTag, the government’s toll earnings had increased by Rs 5,000 crore. Now after the full implementation of the MLFF system, additional earnings of Rs 6,000 crore are expected every year. Besides, toll evasion and rigging will also be completely banned.

The system will become corruption free and transparent

The Minister clearly says that his aim is to make toll collection 100% transparent and corruption free. However, he also clarified that this system will be applicable only on National Highways and not on state and city roads.

When will the entire system be ready?

According to Nitin Gadkari, this new AI based toll system will be fully operational across the country by the end of 2026. After this, Indian highways will become truly smart and superfast. Traveling will become easier and more fun than ever!
