Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina: The statement of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has come to light after the arrest of former ISKCON head Chinmoy Krishna Das after the violence in Chittagong in Bangladesh. Hasina said that the Hindu priest has been wrongly arrested and he should be released immediately. Bangladesh's deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has condemned the arrest of Hindu priest Chinmay Das and demanded the interim government there to release him.

It is worth noting that recently in Bangladesh, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, leader of Hindu group Sanatan Jot and secretary of ISKCON Trust, was arrested, which is being protested on a large scale. People in many parts of Bangladesh took to the streets to protest against his arrest and demanded his release. Many people in India too have protested against the arrest of Chinmay Das and have demanded the Central Government to take up this matter with the Bangladesh Government.

President of Awami League of Bangladesh and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given a serious statement regarding the increasing violence and human rights violations in the country. He strongly condemned the murder of a lawyer in Chittagong and said that the criminals involved in this incident should be immediately caught and punished. Sheikh Hasina has opposed the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das while appealing to the people of the country to stand against terrorism and extremism. The former Prime Minister has said that Chinmay Das should be released as soon as possible.
