Former IPS Amitabh Thakur in the race for the post of CEO of Ram Mandir Trust, stir due to discussions
Lucknow. Amidst the major administrative changes that started after the offering theft case in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust of Ayodhya, the stir regarding the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has intensified. Following the notification issued by the Trust, former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has also applied for the post of CEO. After his application, a round of discussions has started in administrative and political circles. The Trust has invited applications from eligible candidates from across the country and the application process will continue till July 18. It is believed that a decision on the name of the new CEO can be taken soon.
After the incident of theft of offerings in Ram temple came to light, the trust has initiated major changes in the arrangements. After the resignation of many responsible officials including General Secretary Champat Rai, the Trust is now moving towards implementing a professional administrative system. The appointment of a new CEO is considered to be part of this process.
The incident is a stigma for the trust
Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra had also recently said that the incident of theft of offerings is a stigma for the Trust and the system will be further strengthened to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.

Application till July 18, tenure will be three years
According to the notification issued by the Trust, the tenure of the CEO will be three years. Salary and other facilities will be decided by mutual consent. It is mandatory for the applying candidate to be a Hindu. The age of the applicant should be between 50 to 70 years and good knowledge of both Hindi and English languages is necessary.
The three-member committee formed for the selection of CEO will review all the applications and take the final decision.

Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has been among the famous police officers of Uttar Pradesh cadre. During his service, he held many important positions. Apart from administrative matters, he often remained in the headlines for openly expressing his opinion on various issues. Even after retirement, Amitabh Thakur remained active in public life. He raised his voice many times on issues like corruption, administrative transparency and good governance.
