‘Witness’ against Imran Khan Will former ISI chief become? The lawyer put a full stop to speculations, told what is the truth

Pakistan News In Hindi: An important statement has come to light amid the ongoing discussions regarding the alleged relationship between former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and former ISI Director General Faiz Hameed. Faiz Hameed’s lawyer Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq has completely rejected all those reports in which it was being claimed that Hameed can become a government witness against Imran Khan.

The lawyer clearly said that such things are only based on speculations going on in the media and political circles and have nothing to do with reality.

Where did the spark of testimony arise from?

In fact, this discussion intensified when Senator Faisal Vawda and some other federal ministers started repeatedly claiming that Faiz Hameed may soon testify against Imran Khan. The main objective behind these statements was believed to be to bring a new twist in the case of violent incidents of 9 May 2023.

Some ministers in the government believe that the May 9 violence was part of a well-planned conspiracy between Imran Khan and Faiz Hameed. However, the lawyer has termed these claims as completely baseless and said that his client has no such views.

14 years imprisonment and government pressure

Recently Faiz Hameed has been sentenced to 14 years in prison by a military court. After this conviction, senior government leaders like Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar started setting the narrative that Hameed can now become a witness against Imran Khan to get his sentence reduced or for other benefits. The government alleges that after Khan’s arrest, there was an alleged nexus between the two of them behind the attacks on military bases.

Army and ISPR stance

Surprisingly, while on one hand the government and its close leaders are continuously repeating the story of nexus between Imran Khan and Faiz Hameed, on the other hand ISPR, the media wing of Pakistan Army, has not yet mentioned this alleged ‘collusion&#8217 in any of its official briefings. Has not been mentioned directly.

The Information Minister has also put the questions asked on this subject in the army’s side, due to which questions are being raised on the coordination of information between the government and the ruling establishment. For now, this statement of Faiz Hameed’s lawyer has put an end to the speculations which were pointing towards increasing the troubles of Imran Khan.
