Anant Singh said, “Some people had come to meet them in the morning and requested for help. Both the people said that there are two people named Sonu and Monu, they locked my house and started demanding extortion forcefully. After that Late in the evening I went to get the lock of his house opened, when Sonu and Monu were going to meet him, then Sonu and Monu opened fire on some of their people.”

On hearing the sound of gunshot, Anant Singh's supporters went to save both of them and Anant Singh's supporters also opened fire. However, Anant Singh was neither shot nor injured in this entire incident. Anant Singh was standing on the road watching everything, when this incident happened.

Fierce firing between Sonu-Monu gang

Let us tell you that on Wednesday there was a massive firing between former MLA Anant Singh and notorious criminal Sonu-Monu gang in Nauranga Jalalpur village of Mokama, Bihar. About 60-70 rounds were fired. After this incident, heavy police force was deployed in the area and those who opened fire are being identified.

Anant Singh started his political journey by becoming MLA for the first time from Mokama on JDU ticket in Bihar Assembly elections 2005. After this, in 2010 also he was successful in winning again from Mokama on JDU ticket. There was also a good relationship between him and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. But suddenly in 2015, their relationship deteriorated and Anant Singh contested the elections from Mokama assembly as an independent candidate and won. In the 2015 elections, Anant Singh contested the elections as an independent candidate and won. After this, in 2020 also he contested the elections on RJD ticket, while he was in jail. Still registered victory and maintained his political hold on Mokama. In 2022, Anant Singh was convicted in a criminal case and lost his MLAship. After this, his wife contested the by-election on RJD ticket and won. Anant Singh's political journey has been associated with controversies and jail sentences.
