Firozpur. Ferozepur Ex MLA Satkar Kaur Drug Trafficking: Punjab Police has laid a trap and caught a female former MLA selling 100 grams of heroin. Former Firozpur MLA Satkar Kaur Ghari and her nephew Jaskirat Singh have been arrested by the anti-narcotics squad.
This has created a lot of stir in the political circles. According to the police, both were detained near Sunny Enclave of Kharad. Both of them were trying to sell heroin there. There was solid information that former MLA Satkar deals in drugs.
After this the police had laid a trap. Two policemen approached him posing as customers. As soon as these two gave intoxicants to the policemen, the police laid a trap and tried to catch them. Seeing this, both of them tried to run away in the car. This time Jaskirat hit a policeman with his car. A policeman has been injured. The police chased and caught both of them.
Further investigation has revealed that 28 grams of heroin was found in the house of former MLA (Ferozepur Ex MLA Satkar Kaur Drug Trafficking). Due to this, a total of 128 grams of heroin has been seized from them. Apart from this, Rs 1.5 lakh cash and number plates of many cars of Haryana and Delhi were also found from the house. Along with this, the police have also seized four cars like Fortuner, BMW, Hyundai Verna and the like.
Satkar Kaur was a Congress MLA during 2017-22. Satkar was not given ticket in the assembly elections because a report had come to the high command that Satkar's image was not good among the people. After this she joined BJP. Satkar Kaur and her husband Jasmail Singh were detained on charges of drug trafficking as well as possessing disproportionate assets. Jasmail Singh was a member of the Zilla Parishad during the Captain Amarinder Singh government.
