Former Pakistan Army Chief Qamar Bajwa passes away after suffering a head injury from a fall in the bathroom.
New Delhi. Former Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has passed away at the age of 65. According to reports, General Bajwa had been admitted to the Military Hospital in Rawalpindi for the past month. He had suffered serious head injuries after slipping in the bathroom of his home in February, after which he was in the ICU. He breathed his last on Saturday.
The incident, which occurred in February 2026, left him with multiple head injuries. Immediately after his hospitalization, doctors performed major surgery, and he was kept under close observation in the intensive care unit. Hospital officials initially declared the surgery successful, but his recovery depended on his subsequent condition. Given the severity of his injuries, the medical team was closely monitoring him. Bajwa served as Pakistan’s army chief from 2016 to 2022 and remained an influential figure even after retirement.
