New Delhi New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted massive raids at multiple locations in five districts of Jammu and Kashmir in a case related to the recent attacks on security forces and civilians. Raids were also conducted in a case related to infiltration by terrorists from across the border. According to the investigating agency, the officials seized many objectionable materials during the raid. A statement issued by the NIA said that NIA teams conducted extensive searches at eight locations in Reasi, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the NIA, several materials were seized in the raids which show links between Overground Workers (OGWs) and hybrid terrorists with terrorists of banned organisations, whose premises were searched.

During the raids, premises of supporters and activists of these terrorist organizations were also searched as part of the action. Officials said the suspected hybrid terrorists and OGWs searched on Thursday were linked to new branches and affiliates of banned terrorist organizations. The NIA had registered the case on October 24 on the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) following information regarding infiltration of active terrorists linked to Lashkar and Jaish into Indian territory through the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LOC). These infiltrations were facilitated by OGWs and other terrorist associates based in villages in the Jammu region, who were engaged in providing logistics support, food, shelter and money to the terrorists.
