Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Khaleda Zia passes away, wave of mourning in the country
Khaleda Zia Death: Former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and Chairperson of BNP (Bangladesh National Party), Begum Khaleda Zia passed away in the early hours of Tuesday. At the age of 80, he breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. He died after Fajr prayers, according to a statement issued by his family and party BNP.
Khaleda Zia was the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh and served as Prime Minister of Bangladesh from 1991 to 1996 and again from 2001 to 2006. His demise is a great loss to the country, and there is a wave of mourning across Bangladesh.
Begum Khaleda Zia was suffering from health problems for a long time. He had heart problems, diabetes and serious lung problems. Over the last few months, his health continued to deteriorate, due to which he was admitted to the hospital several times.
Begum Khaleda Zia was the second female Prime Minister of the Muslim world, whose death shook the entire political landscape. Earlier, Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan had also achieved such a historic position.
After his demise, his family and party BNP have expressed condolences. Her son Tariq Rahman and other family members recently returned to Bangladesh, where they took care of the mother.
