Former Team India captain MS Dhoni fined for speeding in Ranchi

Sports Sports: Former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is very fond of cars and bikes, has been fined for breaking traffic rules.

The incident comes just a week after the Jharkhand State Housing Board served a notice to Dhoni’s house in Ranchi’s Harmu area over allegations of misuse of residential property.

Ranchi Traffic Police issued an e-challan to Dhoni, stating that on March 1, Dhoni’s car was traveling at a speed of 91 kmph, which was more than the permitted speed limit of 60 kmph. It says a fine of Rs 1,000 has been imposed for speeding. The automated traffic monitoring system found that Dhoni’s luxury car was exceeding the speed limit near Birsa Agricultural University on Kanke Ring Road.

Police said that the law is equal for everyone, be it a common citizen or a big man.

Right now, Dhoni has not given any public reaction on this issue. But it is a hot topic of discussion in the city. Last week, the Jharkhand State Housing Board had issued a notice to Dhoni. He was accused of using the residential plot allotted in his name for commercial purposes.

The board has accused Dhoni of violating site allotment rules by allowing commercial activity on a residential plot in Ranchi’s Harmu area.
