In such a situation, former Indian tennis star Leander Paes said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave me a clear vision of working for youth and sports. He has given me the responsibility related to India’s bid for the 2036 Olympic Games. I have to work hard with a team to bring the Olympics to this country. Paes said this while talking to the media for the first time after joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday.
He said that the Prime Minister has given him a clear vision to work for youth and sports. Now his aim is to make India host the 2036 Olympics with a strong team. Paes said that if India hosts the Olympics, it will further strengthen the country’s identity in the world and promote sports.
Four paces also contributed in hosting the Commonwealth Games
Paes further said that he also wants to contribute to the hosting of the 2030 Commonwealth Games, especially for a possible event in Ahmedabad. Along with this, he stressed on improving sports facilities in his home state West Bengal.
