Shivraj Patil Chakurkar was 91 years old. He breathed his last today i.e. Friday at around 6:30 am at his home ‘Devghar’ in Latur. Shivraj Patil Chakurkar was undergoing treatment at home due to his prolonged illness.

Shivraj Patil Chakurkar had been the speaker of the Lok Sabha. He served on many Union Ministerial posts. When the terrorist attack took place in Mumbai in 2008, Shivraj Patil was the Home Minister of the country. He had to resign after the Mumbai attacks. He held many prestigious positions for the country in his political career and played an active role in the constitutional process of the country.
