“I strongly condemn the barbaric violence against Hindus, Christians and other minorities who are being attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh,” Trump said in a post on his social media site Truth Social. Which is in a state of complete anarchy.”
This is the first time Trump has spoken about the turmoil in Bangladesh following student protests that toppled the Sheikh Hasina government and forced the prime minister to flee the country on August 5. Hundreds of Hindus were killed and are being targeted in Bangladesh in July-August.
Trump posted – “This would never have happened during my tenure. Kamala and Joe have ignored Hindus around the world and in America. They have been a disaster from Israel to Ukraine and to our own southern border, but we can save America again.” and bring back peace through strength.”
He said- “We will also protect Hindu Americans against the anti-religious agenda of the radical left. We will fight for your freedom. Under my administration, we will also strengthen our great partnership with India and my good friend, Prime Minister Modi. do,”
Trump said- “Kamala Harris will destroy your small businesses with more regulation and higher taxes. On the contrary, I cut taxes, cut regulation, freed up American energy and built the largest economy in history.” “We will do it again, bigger and better than ever and we will make America great again.”
“Also, Happy Diwali to everyone. I hope the festival of lights will lead to the victory of good over evil,” the former President said.
Hindu-American groups praised Trump for his pledge to protect the rights of Hindus. Some of them emphasized that the Democrats were losing the support of Indian-Americans while the Republicans were gaining it.
Utsav Sanduja, founder and president of Hindus for America First, told PTI in an interview that the community is grateful to “President Trump”.
Sanduja said- “I am very grateful to President Trump. It is disappointing that Kamala Harris did not say anything on this issue. I think this is going to make a big difference in this election.”
Another American organization HinduAction also thanked Trump. He said- “As you rightly said, the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh is critical. Below is a summary headline with regularly updated data on atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh.''
Indian-American Nathan Punwani said, “Thank you to President Trump for showing moral clarity and unequivocally condemning the anti-Hindu massacre in Bangladesh.”
Sanduja said- “Trump is a great person and a great leader; Full credit goes to him for wishing Diwali to all Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs. I think Trump really cares about these communities. He really understands what is going on in Bangladesh. He sees the atrocities being committed on Hindus. He is concerned about the religious minorities who are suffering in that country right now,” he said.
He said- “He has done a great favor to millions of Americans concerned about human rights issues. It is a wonderful thing to do all this on an auspicious day like Diwali. “I would like to say that many of us from the Hindu community played a small role in persuading President Trump’s team, talking about it, giving briefings and preparing papers.”
Sanduja said- “We are seeing that 60 percent of Indian Americans are supporting Kamala Harris. In the last election, I think 68 percent supported Biden. Support for the Democratic presidential nominee has declined. Last time Trump had 22 percent support from the Indian American community. Now it is 32 percent. This is according to the Carnegie Endowment's latest survey on the attitudes of Indian Americans.
“With this statement, it is going to open the eyes of more Indian Americans, Hindu Americans and others. They're going to vote for President Trump.”
