Who is better in size?

In terms of size, the MG Majestor is significantly larger than the Toyota Fortuner. The Majestor is about 251mm longer, 161mm wider and 41mm taller than the Fortuner. Its wheelbase is also longer by 205 mm. So the Magester is likely to have a more spacious cabin and more space for third row passengers. Even in terms of road presence, the Magester feels more solid and impressive. So the Magester seems to be in the lead in terms of size.

Differences in engine and power

The MG Majestor is powered by a 2.0 liter twin-turbo diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This engine produces approximately 215 to 218 bhp of power and 478 to 480 Nm of torque. On the other hand, Toyota Fortuner is available with 2.7 liter petrol engine (with manual gearbox) and 2.8 liter diesel engine (in automatic version). The diesel engine produces around 201 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque.

In terms of power, the Magester looks slightly ahead, while the Fortuner’s diesel engine is more powerful in terms of torque. Both the SUVs come with strong off-roading capabilities.

Security and Technology

Toyota Fortuner comes with essential safety features like 7 airbags, ESC, traction control, hill assist, downhill assist, differential lock and parking sensors. The MG Majestor, however, has a level-2 ADAS system. It has advanced features like lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. Majestor feels more advanced in terms of technology.

Which SUV should you buy?

If you want an SUV with big size, spacious cabin and modern safety features then MG Majestor can be a great choice. However, if strong brand image, high torque and reliability are important, Toyota Fortuner is still a good choice.
