Four Players from Roundglass Hockey Academy Picked in the Hockey India League Auction

MOHALI: Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) players, Gurjot Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Gursewak Singh and Princedeep Singh were picked up by various teams in the recently concluded Hockey India League Auction at New Delhi. The Hockey India League is returning after seven years and will begin on December 28th. All four players are part of the Indian Junior team and Gurjot recently debuted for the national side.
UP Rudras picked up senior international, Gurjot Singh, for Rs 14.50 lakh while Hyderabad Toofans picked Arshdeep Singh for Rs 11.50 lakh. Gursewak Singh went to Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers for Rs 6.60 lakh and goalkeeper Princedeep Singh went to Tamil Nadu Dragons for Rs 5 lakh.
Speaking on the players selection, Dronacharya award winner, Olympic Gold medalist and Technical Lead of Roundglass Punjab Hockey Academy, Rajinder Singh said, “The players have worked hard for this moment and their selection is well deserved. They have been a constant presence in the national setup and their progress will inspire players in the academy to work harder. I wish all of them the very best to perform brilliantly in the League.”
Gurjot and Arshdeep were recently included in the squad for the Sultan of Johor Cup while Gursewak and Princedeep were part of the junior India squad that toured Europe earlier in the year.
The 20-year-old Gurjot hails from Nakoder in Jalandhar and has been training at RGHA since July 2021 and 19-year-old Arshdeep Singh, from Amritsar, has been with the academy since 2021.
Gursewak Singh comes from Batala and has been with the Academy since 2021. The 18-year-old has been performing at the highest level in the national junior circuit. Pathankot-born goalkeeper, Prince Deep Singh, joined the Academy in 2022 and the 20-year-old will look to impress between the posts in Europe.
