FPSB India Hosts Global Financial Planning Conclave 2026 to Empower Financial Planning Community
Mumbai, June 4: FPSB India, the Indian subsidiary of Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd., successfully hosted the Global Financial Planning Conclave 2026 in Mumbai bringing together policymakers, wealth advisors, CFP professionals, wealth advisors, policymakers, and financial sector experts under the theme, ‘Refining Skills: Redefining Success for CFP Professional’.

Dante De Gori, CFP, FPSB CEO, set the tone for the Conclave by highlighting India’s rapidly evolving financial system and the growing need for trusted professional financial advice. He emphasized that while India is one of the world’s most dynamic economies, economic growth is truly meaningful only when it improves people’s lives. He noted that financial planning plays a critical role in helping individuals and families make sound financial decisions, manage risks, prepare for retirement, and achieve long-term financial wellbeing.
De Gori also introduced Ramesh Vishwanathan as the new CEO of FPSB India. With over 25 years of experience, Ramesh will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, growth, and efforts to advance the financial planning profession in India. He will assume the role in June 2026.
Prof. M. Jayadev, Professor, IIM Bangalore, delivered an insightful session on Risk & Governance in a Changing Macro Environment: Navigating the New Investment Reality and Geopolitical Risks.
David Sharpe, Chair, Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA), shared insights on the cross-border opportunities for Indian CFP professionals during his session on ‘Growing Scope of Offshore Financial Practice – Opportunities for Indian CFP Professionals in Australia’.
Adding a lighter yet equally important dimension to the Financial Planning Conclave, senior practitioners from the Art of Living, Khurshed Batliwala and Dinesh Ghodke, conducted an engaging motivational session. The session encouraged attendees to reflect on the fundamentals of holistic living, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition, movement and exercise, meditation, quality sleep, and overall well-being.
Other panel discussions included a session on ‘The Irreplaceable CFP Professional Powered by AI’ by Suketu Sanghvi, Founder of organizations including Zetheta and XL++.
India has continued to witness strong momentum in the growth of its CFP professional community. The Conclave also offered foresights for financial planning professionals on ‘Re-imagining the Family Office – Building Future-Ready Advisory Practices’ by Rutul Shah, Partner & Co-founder, Aurtus Consulting LLP. The Conclave also had a panel discussion on ‘The Future of Wealth Advisory – Strategy, Scale & Sophistication’.

In 2025, the number of CFP professionals in India grew by 9.9% year-on-year to 3,534 professionals, reflecting the increasing adoption of professional financial planning in the country. Globally, the CFP professional community expanded to 236,300 professionals across 29 territories in 2025, with a net addition of 5,652 professionals over the previous year, underscoring the global relevance and credibility of CFP certification.
The event also recognized and felicitated CFP professionals who have completed 20 years of certification, celebrating their long-standing commitment to professional excellence, ethical practice, and the advancement of the financial planning profession.
