Vienna: The right-wing 'Freedom Party' in Austria created history on Sunday. This is the first time after the Second World War that a right-wing party has won the country's elections. The party has registered victory in the country's parliamentary elections.

Immigration, inflation, Ukraine and other issues dominated the Austrian election. The Freedom Party took up these issues as a weapon against the ruling conservatives. And gained an edge over them. However, on the one hand, its prospects for governance are not clear.

Former Home Minister and long-time election campaign strategist Herbert Kickl is leading the 'Freedom Party' from 2021.
