Friendship or trick? Trump wants to buy Greenland and Russia is celebrating, understand the real thing inside
News India Live, Digital Desk: Whenever Donald Trump says something, it becomes headlines. Once again the discussion is hot that Trump wants to turn his old hobby of buying Greenland into reality. Greenland, which is the largest island in the world and currently comes under the jurisdiction of Denmark. But the surprising thing is that this plan of Trump has brightened the face of his adversary country i.e. Russian President Vladimir Putin. What is the secret behind Putin’s happiness? If we look at it, America and Russia have always been face to face, then why would Putin want America to become bigger? The answer lies in the ‘crack’. As soon as Trump talks about buying Greenland, Denmark and European countries get angry. Putin knows that if Trump remains adamant on his insistence, it will create tension between America and its European allies (EU). Europe being angry means NATO becoming weak, and this is what Putin wants. Another big reason for the ‘superpower’ war in the Arctic is the capture of the ‘Arctic region’. Greenland is in a place from where the entire Arctic Ocean can be monitored. Russia is already increasing its strength here. Putin feels that if America continues to engage in conflicts like buying land in this region, then Russia will get a chance to further strengthen its dominance. Putin believes that such decisions of Trump weaken the unity of Western countries. Will Denmark sell its island? The truth is that Denmark has already clearly refused that “Greenland is not for sale.” But Trump is famous for his stubbornness. Experts say that Putin is just sitting on the sidelines and enjoying, because he knows that due to this one deal, America’s relations with its old friends may deteriorate. Overall, Putin’s happiness is no less than a deep strategic move. While Trump is considering it a real estate deal, Putin is seeing it as a golden opportunity to ‘divide and rule’. Now it remains to be seen how much emphasis Trump puts on this in his next innings in the White House.
