The divorce dispute between Indian boxing legend Mary Kom and her ex-husband Karung Onkholer, also known as K Onler Kom or Onler, is now in the headlines. This matter is no longer just personal, but involves everything from money transactions to allegations and counter-allegations of an affair.
While Mary Kom’s ex-husband accused her of having an extra-marital affair, Mary Kom accused her ex-husband of embezzling her money. They both have four children, three boys and one girl. The custody of these children is currently with Mary Kom.

Who is Onler Com?
Onler Kom was born in 1982 and now her age is around 43-44 years old. He belongs to Kom community of Manipur. Mary Kom also belongs to this community. According to reports, earlier he used to play football and has also obtained a law degree from Delhi University.
Both of them met in Delhi in the early 2000s. It so happened that before a competition, Mary Kom’s belongings and documents were lost. Then Onler helped him find his luggage and get the documents and from here their friendship started. Gradually this friendship reached marriage and in 2005 both of them got married. After this both lived together for about 20 years.

Both have four children. These include twin sons Rechungwar and Khupneiwar (born in 2007), a son Prince (born in 2013) and an adopted daughter Marilyn (adopted in 2018). After the divorce, Mary Kom has the custody of the children.
Where did the controversy start?
Mary Kom announced her separation from her husband in 2023. He had said at that time that this happened for personal reasons and had requested people to respect his privacy. Dismissing the rumours, he said that he is not in a relationship with anyone else. Both of them got divorced as per the tradition of their Kom community, so as to avoid a long legal battle. However, some legal formalities still remain.
Allegation of land grabbing?
This matter heated up again in January 2026. Mary Kom alleged that she has lost crores of rupees and the land she bought with her earnings has also been lost. He claimed that loans were taken in his name by mortgaging his property.
In response to this, Onler has now broken his silence. In a media interview, he completely rejected these allegations. He said, ‘If the property was in my name, it would have had documents. Right now I live in a rented house in Delhi.

On the contrary, Onler made serious allegations against Mary Kom. He said that the reason for the deterioration of the marriage was Mary Kom’s alleged affairs, which are reportedly more than 10 years old. He claimed that Mary had an affair with a junior boxer in 2013, which caused tension in the family, but was later reconciled.
He further said that since 2017, Mary Kom was in a relationship with a man associated with her boxing academy. Onler said, ‘I have WhatsApp messages which contain the name of that person. I remained silent, but now I cannot be blamed publicly.
