From Aaqib Nabi Dar to Prashant Veer, 7 young players who can become stars in IPL 2026
New Delhi, 30 March 2026: The Indian Premier League has given numerous star cricketers to world cricket. Many players have successfully established themselves through IPL. Last season, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi and 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre were two players who made a mark for themselves at the global level. Now, in IPL 2026, some players may also make headlines with their strong performances.
Prashant Veer (Chennai Super Kings)
20 year old Prashant Veer will play the role of Ravindra Jadeja for Chennai Super Kings. Chennai has never shown so much faith in young players before. The franchise saw the performance of Prashant Veer during the trial and based on that he signed him with a bid of ₹ 14.20 crore. Prashant Veer has played only nine matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy so far. During this period, he has performed strongly with a bowling economy rate of 6.45 and a batting strike rate of over 167.
Aaqib Nabi (Delhi Capitals)
Aaqib Nabi is 29 and hardly a young player, but his performances will be noticed. He has eight years of significant experience in domestic cricket. However, Akibe has not yet entered the IPL. IPL 2026 will be very important for him, because along with it he will also become a contender for a place in the Indian team.
Ashok Sharma (Gujarat Titans)
Ashok Sharma is one of the fastest young bowlers of India. He has played for Rajasthan Royals before, but has not got a chance to play in IPL yet. This 23 year old player will get a chance to play for Gujarat this year. He can trouble any batsman with his speed.
Tejashwi Dahiya (Kolkata Knight Riders)
Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Abhishek Nair’s protégé Angakrish Raghuvanshi, who has already played a few IPL seasons, is being trained as a batsman-wicketkeeper. But 23-year-old Dahiya, who hails from Delhi, is also a talented player, who can deliver good results if given consistent opportunities.
Naman Tiwari (Lucknow Super Giants)
India has very few good fast bowlers, and Naman Tiwari, who will play in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup, impressed during the trials. The 20 year old player regularly bowls at a speed of 140 kilometers per hour. He performed well for Noida Kings in the 2024 UP T20 League and can be a useful option if needed.
Ravi Singh (Rajasthan Royals)
This 24-year-old Railways player has shown his ability at the domestic level. He scored 218 runs at a strike rate of 173 for his team in SMAT last year. In the match against Vidarbha, he scored 68 runs in 38 balls, which was undoubtedly the most memorable. Vidarbha’s bowling attack included IPL players Yash Thakur, Harsh Dubey and Darshan Nalkande. This innings earned him a contract of ₹95 lakh from Rajasthan Royals, and it will be interesting to watch his performance this season.
Shivang Kumar (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
23-year-old Shivang from Madhya Pradesh is a double-arm spinner, making him a rare talent. Kuldeep Yadav is the only such bowler in the Indian team. While Kuldeep takes an angular run-up to reach the crease, Shivang’s run-up is more traditional and direct. He is also a useful lower-order batsman, but whether Sunrisers head coach Daniel Vettori can find a place for him in the playing eleven remains to be seen.
