1. Shadow

This historical film of Vicky Kaushal was the story of the bravery of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. In this film directed by Laxman Utekar, Akshay Khanna played the role of Aurangzeb, while Rashmika Mandanna played the role of Rani. The scenes of the battle against the Mughals and the brutal history impressed the audience. It earned around Rs 717 crore and became the biggest hit of the year.

2. Dhurandhar

This spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh was released in December and is still running in theatres. In the film directed by Aditya Dhar, Ranveer played an Indian spy who infiltrates Pakistan. Akshay Khanna played the role of a dangerous criminal. This film full of action and suspense earned more than 555 crores and the sequel has been announced.

3. Sayara

Mohit Suri’s romantic drama stars newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda in lead roles. The love story of a musician and a writer, in which Alzheimer’s disease put a twist. This emotional story of love and dedication touched the hearts of the audience and earned Rs 398 crore.

4. Mahavatar Narasimha

This mythological film was based on the Narasimha incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Incarnation of God in the form of half man-half lion and killing of demon Hiranyakashyap. Gorgeous visuals and spiritual theme took it to 298 crores. This is part of a larger series.

5. War 2

This action film of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR was a part of Yash Raj’s spy universe. Kiara Advani was also in the lead role. The story of rebel agent and enemy earned Rs 237 crores despite mixed reviews.
