From employment to security… BJP launched ‘Affidavit of Trust’ in Bengal, made many big promises

The political stir in Kolkata intensified when BJP released its manifesto regarding the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026. The party has named this manifesto as ‘Affidavit of Trust’, in which many big promises have been made related to the development, security and employment of the state. Launching it at an event in Kolkata, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that this document will show the way out to the people of Bengal from despair.

BJP has specifically put forward six major promises in its manifesto. These include eliminating the atmosphere of fear in the state and establishing trust, making the government system accountable and investigating all major scams and serious cases. Apart from this, the party has also promised to send people involved in corruption to jail, stop illegal infiltration and implement the Seventh Pay Commission.

Amit Shah’s attack on the opposition

While releasing the resolution letter, Amit Shah fiercely targeted the Trinamool Congress government. He said that in the last 15 years, the people of the state have received disappointment instead of hope. He claimed that farmers, youth and women today want change and BJP has emerged as a better option for them. Shah also said that the aim of the party is to take forward the culture of Bengal and connect it with the vision of developed India.

Highlights of the manifesto

BJP has made many big and detailed promises in its manifesto. The party has talked about taking strict action against illegal infiltration and implementing ‘Detect and Deport’ policy. Along with this, a promise has also been made to implement the Seventh Pay Commission within 45 days, to provide financial assistance every month to the poor and middle class people and to implement the Central Government schemes in the state. There has been talk of improving health services for women, providing free vaccination and cancer screening facilities. Besides, there has also been mention of implementing the Uniform Civil Code within six months.

Emphasis on employment and development

The party has set a target of creating one crore jobs and self-employment opportunities to increase employment in the state. Plans to promote small industries and startups are also included in this. In the agricultural sector, a promise has been made to increase the minimum support price for the purchase of paddy and to provide better schemes to the farmers. Apart from this, it has also been said to pay attention to the revival of tea gardens and modernization of jute industry.

Focus on law and order and security

BJP has announced several steps to strengthen law and order. The party has promised to form a commission under the leadership of a retired judge to investigate political violence and strengthen the police system. Apart from this, for the safety of women, it has been said to open women police stations in every area and give 33 percent reservation in police and other jobs.

BJP says that this resolution letter will decide the direction of change in the state. The party has also talked about preparing special plans for the development of Kolkata and other cities.

At the same time, elections in West Bengal are to be held in two phases. Voting will be held for the first phase on 23 April and for the second phase on 29 April.
