From ‘Free Kashmir’ poster to terrorist conspiracy, 8 suspects arrested… ISI link investigated

New Delhi:Delhi Police has busted a big terrorist module and arrested 8 suspects from Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. In this action taken on the basis of intelligence input, 6 accused have been arrested from Tamil Nadu and 2 from West Bengal. Initial investigation has revealed that all of them were planning a possible attack at the behest of ISI and Bangladeshi terrorist organizations.

According to the investigating agencies, these suspects had put up posters like ‘Free Kashmir’ and ‘Stop Genocide in Kashmir’ at many places in Delhi and Kolkata a few days ago. After this activity, the special cell of Delhi Police was on alert mode and was continuously monitoring.

Inflammatory posters put up in many cities

According to sources, about 10 days ago, these posters were put up at more than 10 places in Delhi and Kolkata, including many metro stations. After putting up the posters, all the suspects returned to their respective states.

First, two suspects were detained from Malda in West Bengal. After interrogation and examination of mobile phones, 6 other accused from Tamil Nadu were identified and arrested.

Funding and contacts with terrorist organizations

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested suspects were receiving funding from terrorist organizations and there was a possibility of getting further financial help. Some of these accused had come in contact with terrorist organizations after going to Bangladesh, while some were maintaining contacts directly or through social media.

Connection with Pakistan based handler

Investigation has also revealed that most of the accused are of Bangladeshi origin and they were in contact with a handler operating in Bangladesh. It is being told that this handler is a resident of Kashmir, but is currently active in Pakistan.

Receipt photographs of many sensitive places have also been recovered from the mobile phones of the accused. Delhi Police is thoroughly investigating this entire matter from every angle, so that any possible threat can be neutralized in time.
