Jordan’s King Abdullah II welcomed PM Modi at the luxurious Husseiniya Palace. King Abdullah is considered a 41st generation descendant of Prophet Mohammed. His family has been ruling Jordan for 1400 years.

Importance of cultural relations between the two countries

Five important agreements were also signed between India and Jordan. These include agreements related to culture, renewable energy, water management, digital public infrastructure, and preservation of historical heritage. The two countries signed agreements to increase cooperation in the field of culture, work together on renewable and clean energy projects and better management of water resources. They also agreed to advance partnership in digital governance and technology-based public services under digital public infrastructure. At the India-Jordan Business Forum, PM Modi stressed the importance of cultural ties between the two countries.
