This engineer recently shared his inspiring journey on the ‘Developers India’ community. He told how within just 5 years his salary increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 3.5 lakh per month. The secret of his success was not magic, but some courageous decisions taken by him and his determination to improve his skills.

Kicked the heavy package in the beginning

When this engineer completed his college in 2018, he had two paths in front of him. On one hand, there was an offer of a permanent job of Rs 25,000 per month, and on the other, an internship in a startup in Bengaluru with a stipend of only Rs 10,000. He chose challenges over comfort and joined a low-paying internship. He believed that at the beginning of one’s career, it is more important to learn real work than money.

Focused on skills amidst difficulties

It was not easy to survive on low salary. He spent his days living with roommates in a small flat in an expensive city like Bengaluru and cut down his expenses drastically. During this struggle, he focused his entire attention on learning the latest technologies like React and Node.js. Many times he spent the whole night awake solving complex problems of the system, which strengthened his technical understanding.

Slowly climbing the ladder of success

His hard work paid off and in 2019, the same startup gave him a full-time job at Rs 25,000 per month. By 2020, he became a full-stack developer and the salary increased to Rs 35,000. After this the pace of his growth accelerated. In 2021, the salary first increased to Rs 45,000 and then within a few months to Rs 80,000.

New technology and the wonders of LinkedIn

He did not limit himself to just his old work. They learned emerging blockchain technologies, took online courses, and shared projects on GitHub. His hard work bore fruit when a French company saw his LinkedIn profile in 2022. After the interview, he directly got a remote job offer of Rs 3.5 lakh per month. This was directly four times more than his previous salary.

Quit job and started my own startup

After reaching this level of success, he did not like to stop. In 2024, he left his high-paying job and started focusing completely on his own startup ‘Teckas Technologies’. Today his company is working not only with clients in India but also with clients in Europe and America.

The biggest lesson for the youth

Through this story, he has given an important message to the youth. He says that in the beginning instead of running after salary, one should focus on ‘learning’. Although he admitted that he did not pay attention to financial planning in his initial days, choosing the right skill at the right time and taking risks became the real formula for his 35 times salary growth.
