From laborers and scientists to the best interns, who got invited for Republic Day?

The 77th Republic Day on 26th January is going to be very special. This time around 10,000 special people will participate in the parade to be held on the duty path of New Delhi. These people are from different areas of the country, who have made a huge contribution in nation building. The government wants to praise their work and increase people’s participation (public participation).

 

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) issued a statement in this regard on Monday. It was told that these special guests are people and groups doing very good work. These are the people who have performed best in increasing income and employment, making new discoveries, research, startups and government schemes.

farming and rural development

  • natural farming farmers

  • Good farmers who get subsidy for cultivation of pulses, oilseeds and maize

  • FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations) that benefited from the Agriculture Market Infrastructure Fund

  • Villagers who got permanent houses under PM Awas Yojana Gramin

  • Farmers benefiting from crop insurance scheme

Women Empowerment, Social Welfare

  • Transgenders and beggars who got new life from PM Smile Scheme

  • Women who became Lakhpati Didi (Best Performers under NRLM)

  • Female entrepreneur who started her business by taking loan from Mudra Yojana

  • Disabled, SC/ST and ex-servicemen opening Jan Aushadhi Kendra

sports and education

  • Players who won medals in international games

  • Para World Athletics Championships winners

  • Astronomy medalists at the Olympiad

  • Best student of PM Internship and Atal Tinkering Lab

Apart from this, many people from science, technology, art-culture and other fields are also involved, like scientists from ISRO’s Gaganyaan-Chandrayaan mission, DRDO researchers, youth from startups and artisans from PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

What will be special?

Apart from watching the parade, these special guests will be taken on a tour of the National War Memorial, PM Museum and other important places in Delhi. They will also get a chance to meet and talk to the concerned ministers.

This Republic Day will not only be a celebration of the parade but also of the millions of people who have made the country strong with their hard work.
