FSSAI Notice Biscuit: Notice to Eat Fit Digestive Biscuit Company SAJ Food on misleading claim of 100% flour
FSSAI Notice Biscuit Misleading Claims: The food safety regulator has tightened the noose on the arbitrariness of biscuit companies. This is a very strict and major step taken by FSSAI against SAJ Food Products regarding misleading claims. The company makes misleading claims to its customers about 100% whole wheat flour in its famous Eat Fit Digestive Biscuits. But in the actual ingredients list, only 72.33% flour has been used, which is very shocking for the customers.
In this important matter, a full and major investigation has been initiated immediately following a complaint by an aware customer. In this complaint it was clearly stated that this false claim of the company is completely misleading the customers. Based on this, a strict and stringent show cause notice has been issued to this famous biscuit company with immediate effect. This is being considered a very big and important action regarding misleading claims about food items in the country.
The claim of no sugar also turned out to be completely false.
FSSAI, in its intensive investigation, has also found many other big claims of the company to be misleading to the customers. The company’s claim that there is no added sugar in the product has been proven to be completely misleading and false. Investigation clearly revealed that maltodextrin and harmful glucose syrup solids have been mixed separately in this product. All these things should absolutely not be in any health product claiming no sugar.
Instructions to remove 100% flour advertisement immediately
The authority has given strict instructions to all biscuit companies to immediately remove the claims of 100 per cent flour from their packets. Due to the presence of other ingredients and additives in the product, this claim is not in accordance with the authority’s strict guidelines. The use of the Eat Fit Digestive name will now require a proper and clear scientific basis under the 2018 regulations. The regulator is in no mood to compromise with the country’s food safety regulations under any circumstances.

If no response is received, strict legal action will be taken against the company under the stringent provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006. This news is a very important and big step towards protecting the health rights of customers.
