Funeral of former PM Manmohan Singh today, Delhiites troubled by rain and cold, taking help of bonfire
New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be cremated today at Nigam Bodh Ghat in Delhi. Before this, his body will be kept at the Congress headquarters for the last darshan. After this his last journey will begin. The cold has increased considerably due to falling mercury in Delhi. Due to continuous rains, a situation of waterlogging and traffic jams arose in many areas of the city.
1. Funeral of former PM today
Former PM of the country Manmohan Singh will be given his last farewell today i.e. on 28th December. His last rites will be performed with state honors at Nigam Bagh Ghat in Delhi. Common people and Congress workers will be able to have their last darshan at the Congress Headquarters (AICC) from 8:30 to 9:30. After this, his funeral procession will take out and his last rites will be performed at 11.45 am.
2. Chilliness increased in Delhi
There was intermittent heavy rain in Delhi-NCR from morning till night on Friday (27 December). The highest rainfall was recorded in December in the last 15 years. There was heavy rain in Noida even in the early hours of Saturday. Due to rain, there was waterlogging and traffic jam in many areas of the city. Along with rain, the cold has increased significantly due to falling temperature in the capital. That's why people are resorting to bonfires to escape the cold.
3. CM Yogi will reach Mahakumbh city today
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath will be on a tour of Prayagraj today. Where he will participate in the religious flag worship and installation program of three Vaishnav Akharas in Mahakumbh Nagar. During this visit, along with taking stock of the preparations for the Maha Kumbh Mela, he will also inspect the six-lane bridge. According to the proposed program of the Chief Minister, he will reach Prayagraj by helicopter at around 10.30 in the morning.
4. Holiday in all schools of Haryana
The state government has declared winter vacation in all private and government schools from January 1 to January 15, 2025. All schools will now be opened from January 16. During this period, as per CBSE and ICSE board rules, students can be called to schools for practicals as per the schedule prescribed for board classes (10th and 12th).
5. Third day of the fourth test match
