Gabriel Leone transforms as Ayrton Senna in new picture for Netflix’s biopic series

Fasten your seat belts for Sennaa limited series on the life and career of the late F-1 driver Ayrton Senna. It will release on Netflix on November 29 this year. Netflix shared a new image giving a look at Gabriel Leone’s titular character.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest F-1 drivers ever, Senna won three F1 world titles, 41 victories, 65 pole positions, and 80 podium finishes between 1984 and 1994. He died in a horrific racing accident in 1994 during the San Marino Grand Prix in Italy.

The series will follow not only his racing career but also his relationships, charting his disappointments, triupmhs, sorrows, and joys. It will start with the beginning of Senna’s career in motor racing, as he goes to England as a Formula Ford participant, and will include his accident.

The show also stars Pamela Tome as Senna’s TV star lover, Xuxa; Patrick Kennedy as the McLaren team’s principal Ron Dennis; Gabriel Louchard as Brazilian sports announcer Galvao Bueno; and Matt Mella as rival driver Alain Prost.

Senna is not the first biopic on the legendary F-1 racer. Scottish filmmaker Kevin Macdonald also produced an Asif Kapadia directorial, a documentary titled Sennawhich is critically acclaimed and considered one of the best-ever sports films.

Vicente Amorim runs the show, as well as directing it with Julia Rezende. Gustavo Braganca serves as head writer, whereas Caio Gullane and Fabiano Gullane are the producers. They created Senna in association with the racer’s family.
