Galgotias University expelled from AI Summit? The professor replied

These days ‘India AI Impact Summit’ is going on in the capital Delhi. A controversy came to light during this program. Galgotias University of Greater Noida was accused of displaying a robotic dog at its stall, which it was claiming to have made. Investigation revealed that this robot is actually the ‘Go2’ model of Chinese company ‘Unitree’, which is easily available in the market. After this the university is being criticized a lot. According to sources, the Government of India has directed the university to immediately vacate the expo site. The university professor said that our management has not received any information regarding this yet.

 

However, in the clarification given by the college, no clear answer has been given on this issue. In the viral video on social media, representatives of the university were calling this robot by the name ‘Orion’ and claiming that it has been prepared in their house.

Government’s strictness

Seeing the controversy deepening, news came that the government had ordered the university to immediately vacate the expo. Well, no official information has come on this. If the government has given such an order, then it has started a new debate on transparency in demonstrations in the name of innovation and technology.

Neha, a communications professor at the university, said, ‘A misinterpretation has taken the internet by storm. Maybe I didn’t convey what I wanted to say properly or you didn’t understand properly what I wanted to say. We never said that we created this robot. I am a faculty member of Communications in the School of Management, not AI.

He further said, ‘As far as I know, we are here at the Expo, only the media has heard what the government has said. As a university, we are here to stay. The robot was brought here only for projection. He termed the things going on on social media as propaganda.
