'Gambhir is a hypocrite, he even took the credit for the victory in IPL…' the former Indian cricketer taunted.

Manoj Tiwari's statement about Gautam Gambhir: The Indian team lost the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia after a decade. Earlier, there was a clean sweep in 3 test matches against New Zealand also. For the first time, the Indian team has lost 0-3 in a three-match series at home. Not only this, the Indian team had to face defeat in the ODI series in Sri Lanka for the first time in 27 years. During this period, one thing that was common was coach Gautam Gambhir. Under his coaching, India lost many matches and series within 5 months. After this poor start, former batsman Manoj Tiwari has raised questions on the recent performance of the Indian team. He said that 'Gautam Gambhir may be an expert in advising IPL franchises but is not the right choice' for the coach of the national team.

Manoj Tiwari said, 'To be honest, I do not think he has any experience of coaching in Test or ODI cricket. See the result is in front of you. Results don't lie. The statistics are not wrong. The record speaks for itself. It will take a lot of time for Gambhir to get things right or get back to winning ways. He has no experience of coaching players of a team like India.

There were many players who could be trained

Tiwary believes that former players like VVS Laxman and Sairaj Bahutule have ample coaching experience and would have been ideal choices to coach the Indian team. I think former players like VVS Laxman and Sairaj Bahutule were in line to become the next head coach. These people have been with NCA (National Cricket Academy) for many years. When Rahul Dravid was not available, the next coach should have been someone like him.

Gambhir had to get such a result

West Bengal's Minister of State for Sports Tiwari raised questions on Gambhir's coaching style and said that 'Gautam Gambhir could not carry forward the good work of Rahul Dravid. That process was being followed in Dravid's case but no one knows how Gambhir came this time. So such a result was bound to come. When someone who has no experience comes in and does the job, it doesn't matter how aggressive he is. Meanwhile, this result is bound to come.

He took all the credit for the victory in IPL to his name.

Gautam Gambhir was the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL. Before this, he worked as a trainer with Lucknow Super Giants for two years. It was under Gambhir's leadership that KKR won the IPL trophy in 2012 and 2014. The decision to appoint him as head coach just by looking at IPL results was wrong. In my opinion this was not the right option. He criticized Gambhir for giving full credit for KKR becoming IPL champion and said that 'Chief coach Chandrakant Pandit and the players also played an important role in the success of the team.'

Manoj Tiwari had an altercation with Gambhir in the dressing room during his IPL playing days in 2013. Both were then part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team. He said, 'There is no doubt that Gambhir boosted the morale of players like Andre Russell and Sunil Narine who were going through bad times, but if he was doing all the work then what was Chandrakant Pandit doing? Are you trying to say that Chandrakant Pandit as coach and other players had no role in the success of KKR?

Gambhir's exam will be held soon

The Indian team has performed very disappointingly under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir. There were also reports that he was not BCCI's first choice for coach. VVS Laxman was to be given coaching in his place but after his refusal, Gautam's name was approved. However, Gambhir will have a good chance to prove his worth in the upcoming England series and Champions Trophy. After that, India is scheduled to start the 2025-27 World Test Championship in June. For which he will go to England for five test matches. The Indian team is going through a 'phase of change'. Meanwhile, Gambhir also faces serious challenges which he will have to try to overcome.
