Game Changer box office: Ram Charan’s big-budget film struggles amid competition

New Delhi: Ram Charan and Kiara Advani’s much-anticipated Game Changer is battling to keep its footing at the box office. Despite a robust opening, the film has seen a sharp decline in collections, earning Rs 112.8 crore domestically by day six.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie’s earnings dipped by 34% on Wednesday (January 15), settling at Rs 6.61 crore. Scroll down to read more as we delve into the detailed Box Office report of Game Changer!

Game Changer Box Office collection

Breaking it down by language, Game Changer made Rs 4.51 crore in Telugu, Rs 1.37 crore in Hindi, and Rs 0.73 crore in Tamil on day six. The film started with a bang, earning Rs 51 crore on its opening day, but subsequent days have been less encouraging. After a 57.65% drop on Saturday with Rs 21.6 crore, the trend of diminishing returns has continued, save for a brief boost during Makar Sankranti, when collections rose by 30%.

Adding fuel to the fire, fans have accused the makers of inflating the movie’s global earnings. While the film’s official Twitter account claimed an impressive Rs 186 crore worldwide on its opening day, scepticism emerged as collections fell sharply the next day. Critics and fans alike have been questioning the validity of these figures.

Game Changer vs Pushpa 2

Compounding the struggle for Game Changer is the tough competition from other releases. Sonu Sood’s Fateh has been holding its ground in the Hindi-speaking belt, while Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to rake in steady numbers even in its sixth week, earning Rs 1 crore on Wednesday. Adding to the pressure is Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj, which made Rs 9 crore on the same day, bringing its domestic total to Rs 59.40 crore.

Despite its star-studded cast, including SJ Suryah, Nassar, Brahmanandam, Vennela Kishore, and Murali Sharma, Game Changer seems to be losing momentum. Fans had high hopes for the political thriller helmed by Shankar, known for his grand-scale films. However, its underwhelming performance raises questions about the impact of competition and audience preferences.

For now, Game Changer struggles to prove its mettle in a crowded box office, and only time will tell if it can turn the tide.
