Game Changer collection Day 1: Ram Charan film likely to dominate the box office
New Delhi: Ram Charan and Kiara Advani starrer Game Changer is set for a strong start at the box office. As per the early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has earned over Rs 50 crore in India alone on its opening day. The early estimate collection hints at a solid opening for another Telugu film, after Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule dominated the box office for weeks.
The film’s success is also important for director Shankar, considering the debacle of his last release Indian 2starring Kamal Haasan. Let’s explore how much Game Changer has earned so far, as per early estimates.
Game Changer box office collection day 1 early estimates
Ram Charan and Shankar’s highly-anticipated Telugu movie, Game Changerwas released globally on January 10. According to early estimates on Sacnilk, the film has minted Rs 51.25 crore in India on its opening day. As per the industry tracker, the film collected Rs 42 crore from its Telugu version, Rs 7 crore from its Hindi version, Rs 2.1 crore from its Tamil version, Rs 0.05 crore from its Malayalam version and Rs 0.1 crore from its Kannada version.
The film had an overall Telugu occupancy of 48.56%. Ram Charan starrer had the maximum Telugu occupancy in morning shows of 55.82%. Evening shows also had occupancy in Telugu 2D versions of 50.53%.
Director Shankar’s last film, Indian 2earned only Rs 25.60 crore and tanked at the box office. Meanwhile, Game Changer has received positive reviews after its grand release in theatres. It might earn more over the first weekend due to good-mouth-of-word.
About Game Changer
After the film’s release, a section of moviegoers were upset after hit song of the movie ‘NaaNaa Hyraanaa’ was edited from the film. Later, the makers issued a statement clarifying that the song couldn’t make it to the film’s final cut because of technical issues. Reportedly, it is the first Indian song to be shot with infrared lens, making it a cinematic spectacle. The makers further ensured that they are working towards getting the song back in the film and shared that it will be available from January 14 onwards.
Meanwhile, the film, made on a reported budget of Rs 450 crore, also features SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Anjali, and Samuthirakani in important roles. It is produced by Dil Raju, Sireesh, and Adityaram.
