ALT Balaji News: Producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor have broken their silence on the case registered under the POCSO Act. The controversy started against ALTBalaji's web series 'Gandii Baat', in which it was said that there were some objectionable scenes involving minors. Rejecting these claims, an official statement has been issued on the official Instagram handle of ALTBalaji. It was made clear that Ekta and Shobha Kapoor are not involved in the 'day-to-day operations'.

The case pertains to season 6 of the web series 'Gandii Baat' on the OTT platform ALTBalaji. The complaint reads that the series, which streamed on ALTBalaji between February 2021 and April 2021, showed obscene scenes of minor girls. However, this controversial episode is not currently streaming on this app.

According to the post, 'With reference to several media reports regarding the web series Gandii Baat, ALT Digital Media Entertainment Ltd. (The Company) clarifies that it is in full compliance with all applicable laws, including the POCSO Act and any reference by the Company to the involvement of minors is completely false.'

The post further read, 'It is further clarified that Shobha Kapoor and Ekta R Kapoor are not involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, and it is managed by separate teams, including its content strategy. . The company has full faith in the judiciary and is fully cooperating with the authorities in the investigation. Since the matter is sub-judice, the company refrains from commenting in detail.

According to reports, Mumbai Police is interrogating producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor in this case.
