Gang rape of girl in Korba, Dial 112 driver also involved, 2 arrested
Korba Gang Rape: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five youths in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. A case of gang rape of a girl has come to light in a SECL house.
The driver of police emergency service Dial 112 was also involved in this, who along with his friends raped a girl of Bankimongra police station area on the night of January 8. There is a stir in the police department after the incident.
Dial 112 driver arrested
According to the police, a total of five people were involved in the rape incident. Two accused have been arrested, while three are still absconding. The victim was sent to the Medical College Hospital for treatment. Legal action is being taken by registering an FIR in Civil Line police station.
Darri CSP Vimal Pathak said that the driver of Dial 112 has also been arrested. The accused driver was working on contractual basis.
The accused absconded after the incident
After the incident, the accused fled leaving the victim in an unconscious state. Later, the victim somehow reached her home and narrated her ordeal to her family members. The family immediately took him to the Medical College Hospital and then the police was informed.
Efforts continue to arrest three accused
Police said that ‘zero FIR’ was first registered in the case at Civil Lines police station, which was later transferred to Bankimongra police station for investigation.
Korba Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari said that two accused, including the private driver of Dial-112 service, have been detained and efforts are on to arrest the remaining three accused.
