Gang rape of mother in front of children! Those convicted of gang rape of a French woman in Lahore will be hanged, Elon Musk praised Pakistan

New Delhi: Lahore High Court of Pakistan has given a big and famous decision on 3 June 2026. The court has upheld the death sentence of both convicts Abid Ali and Shafqat Ali in the 2020 Lahore Motorway gangrape case. Both of them had appealed against the death sentence given by the Anti-Terrorism Court in the year 2021, which was completely rejected by the High Court.

After this decision, both the culprits can now be hanged. The world’s richest person Elon Musk also immediately reacted to this news and praised Pakistan.

What was Lahore Motorway Gang Rape Case?

This very terrible incident happened on the night of 9 September 2020. A French woman of Pakistani origin was traveling with her three small children on the Sialkot-Lahore motorway. The car ran out of petrol on the way and the family got stuck on the roadside. The woman was waiting for help inside the car with the children with the doors closed.

Then some attackers broke the window of the car and forcibly pulled the woman out. After this, he brutally gang-raped the woman in front of the children. The criminals also committed robbery and ran away with money, jewelery and bank cards. This incident had created huge outrage across Pakistan regarding the safety of women.

Court decision and evidence

In March 2021, the Anti-Terrorism Court had convicted both the accused on charges like gangrape, kidnapping, robbery and terrorism and sentenced them to death. This sentence has now become final after the appeal was rejected in the Lahore High Court.

The court relied on strong evidence like DNA sample, mobile phone location and identification of the victim. One of the accused, Shafqat Ali himself had confessed to his crime.

Musk’s reaction

Responding to this decision on X, Elon Musk wrote, “Well done Pakistan!” After British MP Rupert Lowe shared the news, Musk said that western countries should also give strict punishment in such heinous crimes.
